Creating Value is a social purpose consultancy specializing in social innovation, strategy, and coaching to spark and sustain meaningful change - individually, organizationally, societally.

Social Innovation Labs

Labs bring together diverse stakeholders around a complex challenges. Together, we deepen our understanding of the patterns, structures and mindsets that are keeping the challenge entrenched. We then co-create and test new approaches and implement those solutions that hold the greatest potential for meaningful change.

Strategy

Strategy is about making essential choices about what our organization will - and will not - do. We design generative processes that combine strategy, systems thinking and design thinking frameworks and tools to support organizations to identify, validate and implement compelling and effective strategies.

Capacity Building Workshops

As the challenges we face become increasingly complex, we need people throughout our organizations who have the knowledge, creativity and tools needed to create meaningful change. Through engaging and interactive workshops, participants deepen their ability to ‘think in systems’, and to co-create, test, and implement innovative solutions.

Coaching for Changemakers

Creating change in today’s world can feel overwhelming. Coaching provides a space to reset - to get grounded, aligned and re-engaged with our personal and professional purpose. It rests on the belief that the answers we seek lie within us - coaching helps surface these through thoughtful questions and reflection.

Spotlight on Social Innovation Labs

For close to two decades, we have been supporting the design and facilitation of participatory processes - often referred to as social innovation labs - to co-create and test solutions to address complex societal challenges. The challenges addressed through labs are complex and messy, as each part of the challenge is intertwined with the other parts – like housing, food security, and employment, for example.

To change the patterns that keep these challenges entrenched, we need to gather with people who bring – sometimes radically – different perspectives. Collaboration across conventional boundaries is not only essential to innovation, but is also a significant achievement in and of itself. We don’t usually get together with people who are not like-minded and it can be hard to do so.

Therefore, our work at Creating Value is to co-design and facilitate participatory processes that build trust and connection across differences, acknowledge power and seek equity, and contribute to individual and collective learning and change in the context of complex societal challenges.

Working with Jill has been nothing short of a transformational experience for The Dream Factory. At the outset of this process, The Dream Factory urgently required a new strategic approach to ensure we were able to 1) continue to meet a quickly rising demand and 2) have a stronger framework from which to make operational decisions.

Jill went above and beyond in her effort to truly understand our mission, unique challenges, and strategic opportunities. Her approach not only brought clarity and alignment to our staff and board, but also instilled a new sense of energy and excitement as we move forward with a new dream for the future of our organization.

Perhaps most significantly, Jill led every aspect of the process with an extraordinary degree of kindness, compassion, and commitment to setting us on a path towards greater success. We are immensely grateful to have had Jill as a treasured extension of our team and look forward to the difference our time with her will make in the lives of the children and families we serve.

Learning from Jill about the concepts and tools they need to start their careers in impact has been an incredible experience for our Impact Consulting Fellows. Jill’s session on systems thinking is consistently ranked as a participant favourite.

Her thoughtful approach to teaching complex concepts to an audience who is new to the space and her ability to create engaging workshops for large groups of participants is why we request Jill year after year. We’re excited to continue our collaboration!
